Force is Majestic under Blackmore

Writer: Henry de Bromhead RacingHenry de Bromhead Racing

The Henry de Bromhead-trained Majestic Force bounced back from a disappointing effort at Naas in January, as she justified 10/11 favouritism in the Boylesports Supporting Irish Racing Beginners Chase.

The winner of a point-to-point on debut when in the care of Robert Tector and successful over flights since, the lightly-raced bay finished fifth to Golden Ace in the Ryanair Mares’ Novices' Hurdle at last year’s Cheltenham Festival.

Upped in trip today for this extended three mile and a furlong contest, the Workforce seven-year-old was settled behind the leaders by Rachael Blackmore and was poised to challenge in second approaching the straight.

Sent to the front from two out, she was soon ridden a few lengths clear, keeping on well in the closing stages to score by a length and a quarter.

Paul Nolan was responsible for the second and third, with Iceberg Theory (9/2 from 9s) three-quarters of a length in front of stable companion Heliko Conti (17/2).

"She was stepping up in trip today and it suited her, she galloped out to the line and she jumped well on the whole," Blackmore said of the Duncan Angove-owned victor.

"She made two little mistakes but other than that she was very good. She is very fluid to jump and finds it easy.

"She probably wouldn't want it too quick, but she is a lovely mare and hopefully there is plenty of good days ahead of her now."
