Much to digest as Hurricane Cliff brings up cross card de Bromhead brace

There was a drama filled conclusion to the Parade Ring Bar Novice Handicap Chase at Limerick, Darragh O'Keeffe eventually bringing up an across the card double for Henry de Bromhead aboard 16/1 chance Hurricane Cliff Raglan Road was a Naas scorer for the Waterford yard in the hands of Rachael Blackmore, and at the Munster venue late departures in the extended two mile one affair made it easier for Hurricane Cliff.

Favourite MacDermott and Dundaniel were right in there pitching when the former fell bringing down his rival at the penultimate obstacle.

Then at the last Hurricane Cliff was gone on from Wee Charlie when that opponent fell to leave the de Bromhead runner with thirteen lengths to spare over The Gradual Slope come the finish.

"I thought he had a good enough chance. He had been off the track for a while before he ran at Down Royal, where he ran well enough to a point. This is his first run in a handicap chase and he has form on that ground," reported O'Keeffe.

"There was plenty of carnage at the second-last and to be honest while I knew Danny (Mullins, on MacDermott) went, I didn't know about the other two. My lad was gawking around in front but jumped the last well and I'm delighted to get a winner before next week.

"Henry's horses are running great and they are doing a wonderful job with them."
